A cattery that feels like a cat hotel
Going away doesn't mean leaving your cat's comfort behind. Every suite at The Vet Lounge Currumbin is individually decorated around a different destination, with plush bedding, wall bridges, shelves and cosy hideaways that make even the most cautious cat feel at home. We look after cats from Currumbin, Palm Beach, Elanora, Tugun, Coolangatta and Tweed Heads.
Shy cats are never rushed. Each suite has dedicated hiding spots, Feliway diffusers help keep the boarding area calm, and our team approaches at your cat's pace with plenty of playtime and cuddles for those who want them.
Feline-focused care. Our principal vet Dr Nicole McGuinness has a special passion for cats and feline medicine, so your cat is in the best possible hands.

Cat boarding FAQs
Does my cat need to be vaccinated?
Yes. All cats must be up to date with their F3 vaccination (feline enteritis, calicivirus and herpesvirus) before their stay. We recommend vaccinating at least 10 days before arrival. We can't accept cats who are overdue or whose vaccination history is unknown.
Is a vet available if my cat gets sick?
Yes. Our boarding suites are inside The Vet Lounge clinic, so a qualified vet is on-site Monday to Saturday during clinic hours. If your cat shows signs of illness they can be assessed and treated straight away. Boarding staff are here 7 days a week.
My cat is shy. Will they be okay?
Absolutely. Our suites are designed with shy cats in mind, with dedicated hiding spots so they can settle in at their own pace. We never force interaction, and Feliway diffusers are used throughout the boarding area to reduce stress.
Can my cats share a suite?
Yes, cats from the same family can share. Premium Suites take up to two cats and King Suites up to three. We never mix cats from different families.
Can you give my cat their medication?
Yes. Our trained team can give tablets, liquids and eye drops. A small daily fee applies. Please bring medications in their original packaging with the dispensing label and written instructions.
How are boarding fees calculated?
Fees are charged per calendar day, including the day of admission and the day of discharge. An extra $6 per suite per day applies during school holidays, Easter and Christmas, and Christmas and Easter bookings require a deposit.
Do the King Suites have windows?
Currumbin's two King Suites are about three times the size of a Premium Suite. They don't have external windows.
